Series 1 vs Series 1.5

You’re probably scratching your head and wondering, “Series 1.5?” Wha?

Well, here’s a quick look at the differences between Series 1 and Series 1.5. First off, the major change is that Series 1.5 no longer has the plastic eyes that Series 1 had. We didn’t have any safety issues with the eyes as they were, but better to be safe than sorry.

Moving to all embroidery also helped us and Shawnimals fully realize the designs better. For instance, the Zombie Ninja on Series 1 had black plastic eyes (like all the other characters) but in Series 1.5 we’ve been able to make the eyes red (like they are in all of the Shawnimals illustrations). Check out the images gallery and you’ll also notice that some characters now feature different eye shapes (other than round) that better express their character (such as Ninja Baby and Ninja Dropping).

There will also be slight color changes on some of the characters and revised shapes that better express the original designs. In general, series 1.5 will also have slightly “plumper” Ninjas…they’ve been hitting the cookie throwing stars hard!

Finally, Series 1.5 also features slightly longer head loops so they’ll be easier to attach to stuff! Yay!
